Square one, this was the day it was brought to my garage.

Owner: Johnny Roeloffs of Tipton, Ca.

I took this on as my final project before leaving country. I've never restored an M38 but it's components are all familiar with other MV's. I called Peter Debella in N.Y. to get the parts oredered, unfortunately M38 parts are a bit oddball and required some adjustments at my end. I found the biggest hurdle was the electrical system, the issue there was that the regulator harness was assembled with connector pins in the wrong location at the cannon plug so, when I plugged it in to the regulator, no power to the circuit.  The before pictures show a typical ranch rig that was road hard and put away wet! There was no 24v. components, wiring was gone, all gauges were wrong, no sending units, 5 layers of paint was my best count.

This is the progress as of 22 Sept 02, I'm probably about %70 done at this point, I still have to strip and paint the seat frames and all body brackets. The rear quarter panel damage will be worked on next, the biggest setback on that was that the parts supplier sent the wrong side, about a 2 week turn around to get the right one. I should meet the deadline of 26 Sept 02 if all goes well. Painting was done on 21 Sept, I had to go down to bare metal on most of it, just too much damage to the paints layers.
